Yesterday I had a 'why the heck have I not been doing the things I love moment' the things that make me happy and make up part of who I am. Living near J will bring the creativity back in me. I just know it. I'm not big on new years resolutions but maybe the move will mark a new start to the creative side in me. There are so many things I want to do & need to do more.

Matthew was up the ENTIRE night last night throwing up. Poor thing. We went to the hospital this morning (we like to be extra careful because he has type one diabetes). The 3 hours there were worth it to him because of the meds he was given. He was supposed to work today (& I'm sad he is sick) but I'm happy he now gets to spend the day with me. We are going to go lay on his parents couch and watch cable. (& maybe I will even swim!) It's the little things right? :)
Anyways I'm finished with work and it is packing from here on out! Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

P.S Did I mention we now have a home to live in? :) Yippee! I'm off to look for home inspiration. Where else do you go other than Anthropologie for inspiration? Here is a photo from their latest catalog. Also, why do they do everything so perfect?

Craftiness.

I've been wanting to paint our coffee table for a while now but I ended up painting our side table instead. I've always loved painted furniture. I needed to get some craftiness out and figured mixing things up in our apartment would do. I went with a grey (figures) I can't seem to step out of the grey box these days. The pictures don't really show a big difference between the two but I think I like it. What do you think? (PS excuse the dying flowers.)
Now to look for a new home project :)

Dreamy.

It's been a while since I've searched through Pinterest. Iv'e been thinking about Summer A TON. I'm sure everyone else is too. I found a few daydreamy photos to further my desire for warm weather.

I'm dreaming of: wavy pinned up hair, camp outs in Fayetteville with Matthew's friends, picking wildflowers with jess, the beach, walking a new puppy, and summer dresses. (all photo's taken from Pinterest)

Color.

Wow. Saying the past two days have been dark and rainy could be an understatement. The cold weather really is trying to make its way here.

In contrast to that.. Look at these colors!? Saw these today on Oh Joys blog by the australian artist Dale Frank. Thought a lot of color would be good for this rainy day. They are kinda mesmerizing.

The weekend in Texas was wonderful. Better than i could have dreamed.

BookArts.

Im taking a book arts class for the 2nd time in college. I took it 2 years ago and am taking it again because this class offers a writing credit which i needed.

I LOVE it. Making books by hand is so much fun.

These pictures are of our first pamphlet assignment. We had to construct a couple of pamphlets. One of these had to have content.

Since bikes are a theme in my life lately (Matthew works with them) I thought id make my fictional story about a bike who travels to different countries. Silly yes but realy fun to illustrate. I do not use my drawing skills near enough and as much as i sometimes hate being forced to draw i love doing it.

Cupcakery.

Most of you know my love for cupcakes. It's not like I eat them all the time but i love making them on occasion.. have always found them cute.. and simply love the word cupcake.. (may be weird but you know everyone has favorite words they like to say)

Anyways... I found this cupcake boutique a while back. As i was looking at their blog today it hit me.. they are from Vancouver, BC.. this is important because that is where Matthew and I are going on our honeymoon for part of the time! Crazy. Hopefully we will get to go to the cupcakery while we are there but until then look at how awesome Lynsdays cupcakes are at CoCo Cake.

Today has been a good day. I went to class extremely excited about a project i'm doing in graphic design. We are designing ad campaigns for not so known products. I chose to do "climate change chocolate."

I've been so ready for fall & the cover of this product screams "Colorado in the fall" to me. Very earthy & very warm.

I got to class worked for 3 hours. After my computer froze on me twice, frustration from not being able to do things i don't know how to do, and feeling uninspired.. i left class.

I went to Starbucks and got the ultimate fall drink... Pumpkin Spice Latte... (even though it is still 90 degrees outside).. listened to the rest of a sermon i started earlier on Biblical Womanhood (so good) & I came home shortly after. I Skyped with a friend, talked to my fiance on the phone, then decided to drive to the grocery store.. (because i LOVE just walking around the grocery store)

A counting crows song came on random while i was on my way. I don't listen to them too much because most of the songs are are sad depressing love songs. This song though.. it made me feel good. Reminded me of being with Jessica in the fall. Painting away.. high school football games.. falling leaves.. & driving in an old rusty orange Wagoneer. It was perfect. Now i am re-inspired and ready to face the fight against Adobe again. Music inspires me. What inspires you?

Not my favorite version of the song & Adam is realllly funny in it.. but it will do.

did i say i loved Etsy?

So every day lately i have been checking Etsy's home page for newly posted things. I always see things i LOVE without a doubt. Its becoming my favorite place to buy gifts. Here are a few things i found today...

a little letter press... of course i had to put a little bit of Texas in there along with an awesome hand printed calendar, recipe cards, and bike print... some vintage books, beautiful jewelry, an awesome bag (that i want really bad) and a neck warmer...

For Sale.

Wow. I feel like there is so much to write about. A lot has gone on. Im back in school. Loving the classes that i dreaded just 2 weeks ago. Im getting to take Book Arts again as my writing credit for the University (meaning i got out of the worst class in history..) I love my new little apartment. My brother got married last weekend. And wedding planning for me now gets to take off. Its all exciting and all been fun. Another new thing going on is that while i was home i gathered up all the paintings to sell and am posting them on Etsy soon. Ive was always going to sell them its just taken a while for me to take decent pictures and decided what id keep. Here are a few that i'm going to sell! (and if you want more info on them let me know! you will see right off that i tend to paint is bright colors but most of these were painted all around the same time, they are not all extremely colorful!)

P.S. im in shock that it is pretty much September! (meaning i get married in 3 months and 20 days from today!) :)

Radical.

I've been reading the book Radical by David Platt. I have heard him preach on "The Radical Experiment" before but this book is rocking my world. If you are a Christian or Non-Christian its a good book to read. It exposes the way we have twisted Christianity to our liking and live life for ourselves. It tells the Gospel of Christ and shows our desperate need for God. Since reading it i feel the gracious love of God for me. PLEASE read it.

Prints.

On days that i write a blog entry it seems i always want to write 4..I wait a few days and write 4 more.

I found this print shop on line the other day. The Poster Cabaret out of Austin, TX.

I had the opportunity to take a Print Making class 2 semesters ago and LOVED it. (you may remember my entry about my Bike print) I have such a respect and appreciation for art that is made in a timeless and classic way. Hand made.

I want to start buying hand printed posters like this bike one. Im going have an art wall (like all hand made prints) in Matthew and my house. (Eek! that sounds crazy! and exciting!)

happy monday!

Today is Monday.

Im sitting at Panera eating my very first "reward" from them. That's right Panera now has a rewards card! Your first reward after opening the free card was some kind of pastry. So, here i am drinking Hazelnut coffee (which is my favorite!) and a scone.

Great start to a Monday morning.

Since today is Monday, it also means that it has been exactly a week since i have seen Matthew. Seems like a month has past already. It also means that i have 33 more days to wait to see him again.

On this Monday morning i have been thinking about something that i have not blogged about before. I am not sure why i have not blogged about this previously but... I admit i am a Twilight fan.. more like fanatic.. maybe that word is a little strong but whatever. I LOVE them.. I love the movies. I also love the books. I know there are people who wonder why the heck you would ever pay to watch one of the movies but.... most of these critics are boys!... from my experience at least.. and what i have to say about that is.. the books were made for teenage girls! Not 20 year old men who want to critic the stunt scenes. Ha. OK. Yes, that was a vent. But really...

Also, just to add and so that everyone knows.. i am on Team Edward! I love Jacob.. feel bad for him.. and think he is a doll.. but i am totally for Rob Pattinson. I also have a minor girl crush on Kristen Stewart. I LOVE her. She is awkward.. but i appreciate that about her. I appreciate that she loves what she does and does not do it for the fame. She's pretty cool in my opinion. Plus.. she dresses awesome. She is (i admit) one of the reasons i have gotten into reading the tabloids as i stand in the grocery store line. Can you believe she is only 20!? I was shocked when i read this.. The other Twilight character that i love is Ashley Greene.

I feel a little creepy saying all of this but admit it.. everyone has celebrity crushes :) ...what's yours?...
