products to love.

So ive always been amazed by packaging design and labeling. Also by unique design to everyday objects. For my birthday i got quit a few of these things that exemplify just that.

My sweet friend Sarah Wright got me Sprinkles cupcake mix which i told her i don't ever wan to use because the packaging is so cute! I love the tins and the label. She also got me a candle that turns into lotion after you burn it! How awesome. It also smells so amazing. Davis Ann (my roommate) got me a few things from Anthropologie. You can never go wrong shopping there for me. She got me the tiniest/cutest measuring spoons ever and an orange shaped (but green) sugar bowl. So perfect.

day of birth.

Formal weekend was great. It was spend walking around downtown Memphis, throwing the Frisbee in the park, celebrating my birthday, and dancing all night on a river boat. Matthew made me an awesome cake that i was totally surprised by. He also picked out my formal shoes (the last picture at the bottom) because i couldn't find any in Tuscaloosa! Thought i should share since he did such a great job! He has great taste huh? Memphis is a cool place. I think that it has a bad reputation in some aspects but i was totally impressed this time i went. It has its cool spots. Anyways. Also for my birthday i got an awesome graphic design magazine, a cool hippie dress (like legit hippie dress) and a new yellow purse to replace my awesome yellow leather messenger bag that i have had for a few years that is now falling apart. I like being 22. Its not too old sounding but its not highlight year that makes you feel really young. Its a good age.

So my birthday is next tuesday. When I went home for easter my mom gave me my birthday gifts from the family! Here are a few lovely things i recieved. I love that my mom knows to go on my wish list at Urban to buy me things. She's pretty great. I update my list on occasion because you just don't know when she will be in the mood to send me a surprise ;)

As a side note. Im going to Memphis this weekend for Matthew's formal. Hooray! Its only been 2 weeks since we saw each other but it feels like the normal 5 we usually have to wait. I'll post pictures from our weekend adventures next week!

Ok. So my best friend sent me this website for "pretty foods & pretty drinks." Its pretty awesome. Love these unicorn cupcakes/cookies, not sure which.

print shop.

Sooo. Urban Outfitters now has a print shop. When i first saw this i had mixed feelings.. i guess places like Urban OUtfitters take things like art and bikes and make them cool. Being the kind of person who i am (someone who, because of my pride, doesn't like when things go main stream) initially thought this was a horrible thing. But now, on second thought its a good thing for artists. Its putting their work out there and calling it cool. A way of advertising i guess. So everyone support the solo artists!

Im not a fan of all of the prints but i guess that doesn't really matter does it.

Hmm. Maybe i should go back to print making now since its a "cool" thing all of a sudden. tehe.

Today is Davis Ann's birthday. Davis Ann and I have been roommates since freshman year and im so blessed that the Lord put her in my life. I couldn't have asked for a better roommate! I mean that totally and sincerely. The Lord has shown me his love through her time and time again. So, Happy Birthday to Davis Ann my best friend!

On another happy note my friend Chris shared this video with me earlier this week. She is so absolutely beautiful!

..Speaking of Lisa Hannigan... (from my last post) Matthew and I saw her last spring break in concert and from then on i have had a major artist crush on her! Most people know her through Damien Rice. She sang with him on his first 2 albums but has now gone solo. For about a month last year she was all i listened to non stop. The warm weather has go me listening to her again. She's so fun and sweet! Here is one of her best songs. . I hope you enjoy!

Today has been a good day.

Today i have sewn, worked out, gone to class, got a diet coke with vanilla from sonic, thrifted, talked to my best friend on the phone, drove barefoot on newly paved roads, listened to Lisa Hannigan, and made a jewelry stand. I mentioned in a post a few days ago that i had new "craft" ideas. Well here is one of them. I saw the idea on a vintage blog and decided i could make them to! It was so fun looking for plates in stacks of a hundred. So here is my first attempt at making a resourceful object. Lets just hope it stays together!
