This past weekend was spent with my family in Decatur. Wesley and Emma left for Spain today so we had one more weekend together before the December wedding festivities start.
On sunday Sara (my old roommate, bridesmaid, and sweet friend) and her bf Jonathan came to visit. Sunday and Monday was spent enjoying the weather, riding new bikes, and going on Triple dates with Davis Ann, Brad, Sara, J, Me, and Matthew. It was simply wonderful.
Have i mentioned how much i LOVE fall?
Things to love in the fall: The leaves, the colors, the weather, mums, pumpkin spice lattes, folk music, riding with the windows down, wearing long sleeves and shorts.. and the list goes on.

Im taking a book arts class for the 2nd time in college. I took it 2 years ago and am taking it again because this class offers a writing credit which i needed.
I LOVE it. Making books by hand is so much fun.
These pictures are of our first pamphlet assignment. We had to construct a couple of pamphlets. One of these had to have content.
Since bikes are a theme in my life lately (Matthew works with them) I thought id make my fictional story about a bike who travels to different countries. Silly yes but realy fun to illustrate. I do not use my drawing skills near enough and as much as i sometimes hate being forced to draw i love doing it.

Musical Monday.

I decided this weekend that i should (on occasion) use Mondays as the day to share what my top 10 in music is at the time.

Im going to list/suggest both songs and albums new and old.
Here's what's on my top ten list lately. (In no particular order)

1. Josh Ritter album: Hello Starling.
I love his voice. His lyrics. Everything. This album fits the time of year.
2. Mumford and Sons album: Sigh No More
Ive been listening to this album on & off for a few weeks now. Hasn't gotten old.
So good.
3. Ray Lamontagne album: God Willin' and the Creek Won't Rise
Like it for a million reasons.
4. The Avett Brother's random songs from different albums.
Always good.
5. Andrew Bird song: Anonanimal
Just like it. No reason why.
6. Missy Higgins song: Forgive Me
One word: beautiful.
7. Local Natives song: World News
8. Gabriel Kelley songs: Like She Did and Its Not Too Late
I heard about this guy from a friend of mine. He's starting out but on tour & awesome
9. Ben Rector: White Dress
Simply because Im getting married in December and this song talks about that. Ben is one of Matthew's fraternity brothers from college.
"so do you remember with your white dress on.. it was the end of December"
10. Death Cab For Cutie song I Will Possess Your Heart.
Came on shuffle yesterday on my ride home. Forgot how much i like Ben Gibbard and his wonderful talent for writing music. Im also posting this one for the music video. Its great but kinda long.. just to prepare you in case you watch it.

Most of you know my love for cupcakes. It's not like I eat them all the time but i love making them on occasion.. have always found them cute.. and simply love the word cupcake.. (may be weird but you know everyone has favorite words they like to say)
Anyways... I found this cupcake boutique a while back. As i was looking at their blog today it hit me.. they are from Vancouver, BC.. this is important because that is where Matthew and I are going on our honeymoon for part of the time! Crazy. Hopefully we will get to go to the cupcakery while we are there but until then look at how awesome Lynsdays cupcakes are at CoCo Cake.

This one's for Jess.

Today has been a good day. I went to class extremely excited about a project i'm doing in graphic design. We are designing ad campaigns for not so known products. I chose to do "climate change chocolate."
I've been so ready for fall & the cover of this product screams "Colorado in the fall" to me. Very earthy & very warm.
I got to class worked for 3 hours. After my computer froze on me twice, frustration from not being able to do things i don't know how to do, and feeling uninspired.. i left class.
I went to Starbucks and got the ultimate fall drink... Pumpkin Spice Latte... (even though it is still 90 degrees outside).. listened to the rest of a sermon i started earlier on Biblical Womanhood (so good) & I came home shortly after. I Skyped with a friend, talked to my fiance on the phone, then decided to drive to the grocery store.. (because i LOVE just walking around the grocery store)
A counting crows song came on random while i was on my way. I don't listen to them too much because most of the songs are are sad depressing love songs. This song though.. it made me feel good. Reminded me of being with Jessica in the fall. Painting away.. high school football games.. falling leaves.. & driving in an old rusty orange Wagoneer. It was perfect. Now i am re-inspired and ready to face the fight against Adobe again. Music inspires me. What inspires you?

Not my favorite version of the song & Adam is realllly funny in it.. but it will do.

Wedding planning is coming together.. I have gotten a lot done.. or really I have made a lot of decisions lately... i feel this pressure to have the "coolest"/"trendiest" wedding... maybe from myself? but honestly think its from the world around me... and what people may expect from me? i don't really know but at this point.. honestly... i feel like i don't care what the details are anymore... i am happy with the way things are going though.. ive loved the process so far even though i am not the best decision maker... and now...
i just want to get to that moment already.. when i can say "I do"...
Maybe if matthew and i were not ten hours away i wouldn't be so ready... but ready i am...
also... just as a teaser... one word to describe a theme in my wedding... grey...

Ol' Ray

Ray Lamontagne came out with a new CD a couple of weeks ago. It is a very good CD.
At this moment... if i had to pick a favorite.. this would be it.
(ok... i also love 'God Willin & The Creek Don't Rise'.. and 'Old Before Your Time'.. they are all good)

Are you still in love with me
Like the way you used to be or is it changing?
Does it deepen over time like the river
That is winding through the Canyon?

I feel your hand in mine
Though were living separate lives in separate places
