Back.

We are back from our Honeymoon and it was fabulous. I will post some highlights from it later but for now here is a song. This came on quite a few times while we were in Vancouver. I love Amos Lee and his new album. Enjoy.

Again.

This should have gone with my last post.

19th.

Today marks Matthew and my one month anniversary. I can't begin to express how much fun it has been. I have not even shared my thoughts on the wedding but i will say it was one of the most fun days of my life. I thought after all the planning that I would be glad it was all over. I now know that I would do it all over again in a heart beat. We have both been blessed with such great, loving, and fun friends and family. It was a peaceful day, not stressful. The ceremony was just the right length. I giggled instead of cried at the alter. The food was perfect (although we only got to eat a bite). And the reception was filled with dancing (alot of dancing). I loved everyone there. It was a perfect day and I would not have changed a thing.
We leave for our honeymoon this weekend and it feels more real than ever. We have everything taken care of. We ordered a little bit of currency to use on small things while we are there. This may be silly but right when Matthew showed it to me i couldn't stop thinking about how pretty it was. I guess its the visual artist in me. Its way more colorful than ours :)

Sunshine.

This Martin Luther King Day was the prettiest day we have had in weeks. The temperature was in the 60's & we had blue skies. Due to the recent rain, the mountain bike trails have been closed for a while. With this being so, we loaded up the bikes on the car and headed to a nature preserve not far from our apartment. We rode around for about an hour on their walking paths. Being on the walking trails reminded me of this past summer with Jessica & Logan when we would ride on the greenway. Im ready for summer and Im thankful for how beautiful the day was today.

LoveWins.

I was super surprised again this week by a package I received in the mail. Another one of my sweet friends sent me a thoughtful wedding gift. My friend Sarah bought me two more things from Leah Duncan's website. I got one of the awesome pillows that i posted about and the 'Hello Vase' tea towel. She also bought me this watercolor print from Geninne, one of my favorite artists. The print came in this beautiful frame. Im still trying to decide where to hang it. Something so great deserves a special spot. As I was looking for pictures on Geninne's website, to show which print I got, I came across this 'Love Wins' print.
I thought it was fitting for Valentine's Day that is coming up. Plus, love wins is a phrase I like as a Christian because it really does win.. meaning God wins. I love that.
I have the best friends. They are so thoughtful and so loving to me. I really am blessed by them on an everyday basis.

Denison.

So Mallory and I went on our little adventure to the sleepy town of Denison, Texas. As you can see it was a cloudy day and not too much goes on in Denison. Nevertheless, we had a fun trip! We ate at a local coffee shop called Country Java, tried on vintage clothes, went in some Antique malls, saw the birth place of President Eisenhower, and saw the Travelers Hotel in real life.
It was a good day.
(I got these pictures from sweet Mallory's bloggie. )

Surrender.

Random thoughts:
Mallory (Matthew's sister) and I are going on an adventure Friday. We may travel to the little city of Denison, Tx. Matt and I saw an ad for it at the movie theatre. Apparently they have an awesome antique & arts district. I guess we will find out. Im excited. I love new adventures.

The cold is making me want Spring to come VERY bad.
I've been thinking about surrender & what it really means to surrender to God.
Matthew and I have been praying about where the Lord would have us serve Him.
Im learning about surrendering in that. Surrendering to the fact that He could be calling us to go somewhere far from here. Somewhere out of my comfort zone. Its exciting and scary all at once.. the unknown that is.
The safest place is in the will of God and that is where I want to be more than anything.

I do feel peaceful.
Im in love with peace.

I got new pink nail polish today.
I went to take him dinner at work tonight for the first time. It's fun being a wife.
Matthew has like 20 plaid shirts. He purchased 90% of them at a thrift store. And that is ALL he wears. I love that. I love him.

Life is good. God is good.
(this is in Denison- creepy & cool all at once)

Valentines?

Valentines day is still over a month away but I saw this on Poppytalk today.
Adorable huh!?
Their past few posts are filled with Valentine card inspiration!
(You can buy them on Fred Flare!)
P.S. Forgive me for all of my grammatical and spelling errors.  Im the WORST proof reader.. as in I don't proof read.
:)

Angelika.

Last night Matthew and I drove to Dallas to watch a movie at the Angelika (a theater that shows films seen in theaters along with some movies not seen in theaters.. Independent films and such.) We went to see Country Strong. I hadn't seen many advertisements on the movie so didn't know what to expect but.. it was so good. I definitely recommend it.
This afternoon I will be bundled up on the couch. It is currently snowing pretty hard. It rained the entire morning then all of sudden it turned into snow. I guess the weather man was right this time. Matthew had to go into work this afternoon. Im praying they close early :)
I love Sundays.

Sweetness.

I've been listening to Sandra McCracken the past few days. For those of you who know Derek Webb, she is his wife. I love her voice and the honesty of her lyrics. I wanted to post the song Now and Then but stumbled upon this one instead. Hope you're blessed by it like I was.
Here is her website.

Before I was born
Every day recorded
Your thoughts like grains of sand
Through the wide-eyed night
In the morning light
As my days demand

With the fears of a girl
and the heart of a woman
and everything in between
though I swim this ocean
and ride these wings
where you are, is where I'll be

Snow.

So the very first Christmas I move away from home my family wakes up to a WHITE Christmas.
This is a big deal to Alabamians. I mean it was from 4-8 inches in some parts. I know what you are thinking if you live in a place where you get snow every winter... But 4 inches.. (that actually sticks) is a big deal to us. Everything shuts down. The interstates even shut down sometimes. Not because we are in panic mode.. but because our roads get icy and we don't have the equipment to clear the roads.
I was very jealous when i saw the pictures from Christmas morning at my house. This has to be the most snow we have gotten consistently since the blizzard of 93'... the year people STILL talk about like it was yesterday. Hilarious I know. I guess after this year people will be talking about the snow of 2010. Its about time.
Anyways. Im so ready to go on our Honeymoon to British Columbia. The weather channel said it was supposed to Snow in Dallas on Sunday.. Im not getting my hopes up. I DO hope it snows while we are in Canada. Look how pretty it is in BC when it does snow. Today: I am dreamy.

Daniel, Ray, Emmie, & Wesley in our backyard Christmas morning. Again... super jealous.

Wall.

Our Friday night started off with BBQ sandwiches that I made in the crock pot. I really have enjoyed planning meals and cooking, more than i thought i would. After dinner we watched an episode of Ally Mcbeal (the show that Jessica gave me to keep me entertained while I'm unemployed & Matthew is at work.. Im already on season 2!) then we hung up pictures to create our random photo wall, rented a movie, and got Ben&Jerry's!
Married life is fun.
Have a happy weekend! :)

Newly.

I decided i would take pictures of things going on here every now and then to keep my friends & family updated on our new life. Being ten hours away from home I figured pictures were the best way for people to see what our life looks like. I have not done the best job so far but hope to get better at documenting our adventure.
So far as newlyweds we have traveled in a Uhaul trailer across four states. Celebrated Christmas, Matthew's 23rd birthday, and New Years all in our first 2 weeks.
On New Years we got dressed up to go to downtown Dallas. After thinking about being on a train for an hour and a half (since we didn't want to drive) we opted out and sat on the couch/watched TV instead. It was pretty great. The first two weeks have been pretty great.

Madewell.

So living in Texas is a lot different from Alabama. Living 20 miles from Dallas puts me next to every store ever created. This is good and bad. Of course Im not doing much shopping considering Im a newlywed and am currently unemployed (looking for a job!) But I still like to window shop. It always brings some sort of inspiration to me. There is a Madewell store in a mall near us. They are a company by J.Crew (that does not cost as much). They have beautiful clothes.. plus Alexa Chung did an AdCampaign for them. Before heading out into the world today to job hunt and run errands i did some online looking. Here are some of my top picks today from Madewell.

Surprise.

So just a few posts ago I blogged about Lee Duncan. And... a great friend of mine sent me a surprise in the mail from her shop! I got this amazing 2011 Calendar for our new little apartment.
Happy day. I love the little things.
Oh, a few other 'little things' I'm happy about right now..  i cut my bangs finally! and we got a cute kitchen table today! :)
